FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We try to make our service as simple as possible, but we appreciate that getting an STD test can be a stressful time. We’ve answered some frequently asked questions below, but if you have any other questions you can contact us on +971 52 700 7915.

If you are sexually active, we suggest you take our fully comprehensive 32 pathogens STD screening. It is the only way to be sure that you are not carrying any STD and more importantly not passing it to others.

Each STD has a different incubation period after sexual intercourse and will not show up until:

  • Chlamydia – 7 days (after the encounter)
  • HIV – 28 days (after the encounter)
  • These are guidelines, if you are showing symptoms before we suggest you get checked ASAP.

STD symptoms vary from the obvious such as rashes, redness and itchiness to discharge from genital area, sores and pain when passing urine. Some STDs can take months to show symptoms or even show no symptoms at all. This means you could be carrying an infection without even knowing. The only way to be sure is to get checked!

Every test is sent to our lab for analysis. We will keep you updated by WhatsApp. We aim to have results within 24 hours they will be sent to you via WhatsApp or email. If you have tested positive, we will offer advice on the best course of treatment for you.

We understand that discretion is very important to you, your details won’t be shared with anybody.

If your test comes back positive, we can offer a free doctor’s consultation* to advise which treatment is needed for you.
*Depending on which test you have taken, additional charges may apply
Once you’ve booked your test at our private STD clinic we’ll contact you to confirm the time and date. We’ll also provide you with information on how to get to the clinic, including how to find it. When you arrive, all you need to do is present yourself and booking reference at the reception desk to let them know that you are there. You shouldn’t need to mention why you are there as the staff will be expecting you and are all briefed on the need to be discreet. The medical professional will take your blood sample or offer instructions on how to correctly collect a urine. They will then package the sample up and send it to the laboratory for testing. At this point you don’t need to do anything else. We’ll contact you as soon as we have your results and these will be communicated with you.
